About Us

How it Began!

The journey of our organization began as a calling that could not be ignored. After a fulfilling 43-year career in nursing of loving, praying for, and helping others, Sharon Bennett found herself in retirement. Enjoying life without a schedule.

God had different plans. Despite initially seeking rest, Sharon could not shake the word God kept speaking to her, "I Need You to do More!" Despite other volunteer activities, God kept stirring her spirit and His desire became hers. Her heart had been stirred by a deep sense of purpose. A calling that had been placed on her life long ago.

Sharon accepted the mission to empower women, especially those from underserved communities, and provide them with the support they needed to build brighter futures. Guided by her faith, she has established the Faith based center to serve as a refuge for women seeking not just education but hope and a path forward.

THE NEED!

The Atlanta Metropolitan Area includes the five counties of Fulton, Clayton, Dekalb, Cobb, and Gwinnett. Cobb County, like Atlanta, is home to a diverse population, but too many women face significant socioeconomic challenges, income disparity, limited access to education, unemployment, and a lack of community resident support. They're still underserved.  Especially, with women of color.

*According to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2023, women are 51.3% of the 776, 743 population. And 23.1% are aged 16-35 (93.730.)

*The overall Poverty Rate for women in Cobb County is 9.2%; and, 11.2% for the age group 18-34. This was in the Cobb Courier April 5, 2025. That's approximately 10, 499, with Poverty and Low-income is 60% for this age group. Approximately 50% are women of color.

* Unemployment for Cobb in 2023 was 2.8%, according to Georgia Department of Labor, Jan. 2023. According to the Bureau February 2025, unemployment has gone up to 3.6%, an increase of 0.3.

There's still so much work to do in our home of Cobb County. It's going to take ALL of us. Also, about 18% of young ladies in Cobb County have seriously considered hurting themselves at least once.
