Sharon Bennett, the visionary Founder, President, and CEO of God's Daughters Divine Compassion Center, brings over four decades of experience in the nursing field to the nonprofit sector, passionately advocating for young women in need of guidance, empowerment, and a fresh start. With 43 years in the medical field from ICU Charge, patient care health coaching, case management, to inaugural hospital administrative logistics team, Sharon has developed a deep understanding of the human condition and a drive to uplift others. She has a B.A. and a B.S., along with having completed a coaching course and numerous inservice psychology trainings. Ms. Sharon even was a substitute teacher.
Her leadership at this center is rooted in her personal journey, which began with a meaningful outreach in 2012 at Seton Home for Girls. This experience, alongside her involvement with numerous other speaking events in varied states with varied organizations, like Society Empowered Women (SEW) in San Antonio, inspired Sharon to create a sanctuary where women could find support, direction, education, and a pathway to success. Ms. Sharon is an active member of her church and volunteers for an area women's shelter.
In addition to her role at the center, Sharon is a prolific reader, author and speaker. Her books, include Shoe Fetish 1, Shoe Fetish 2, Cracks in Your Mirror and My Heart Hurts: A Child’s Experience with Death, reflect her commitment to healing and empowerment. Her articles of empowerment were published in over 15 lifestyle magazines and business periodicals.
Sharon’s works serve as a powerful testament to the strength of women and the grace of God. She is also inspired by her father, Rev. Dr. L.E. Bennett, a civil rights champion whose legacy continues to fuel Sharon's dedication to justice and community service. Through her writing, leadership, and faith, Sharon aims to instill hope, strength, and the courage to embrace one’s unique journey. With God's Daughters Divine Compassion Center, Sharon is building a community where every woman feels valued, inspired, and empowered to create the future she deserves. She chronicled his life during the height of the first civil rights movement in a book titled: Jewel of the South, a civil rights biography of Rev. Dr. L.E. Bennett. This story won him placement for almost 2 years in the Bullock Museum of Texas History in Austin, TX. Also, in San Antonio's African American Community Archives Museum, and is being considered for the city's Conservation Society.
